Chapter 1: Comatose 11
Session 11

As the argument between Malik and Tru fizzled out, a warm breeze blew through the forest's coniferous trees and everyone caught sight of a female elf walking towards them through the trees. She appeared in the clearing as Tru ordered her stop. Her name was Lilith and she seemed to have both a strong connection with and concern for the forest having been traveling for some time. For Tru, however, something about her just reminded him of birds, and naturally, he found no trust in her. Standing in the back, Malik shortly after sensed another presence approaching from behind, near the shack, and he darted off to find a shady half-elf skulking about the shack. Their eyes locked as the half-elf drew two razor-sharp scimitars in defense. Malik seemed to hit it off with the guy until he refused to drop his weapons and Mailk was forced to draw his own. After considerable time, however, Lilith was invited to join the group, and the half-elf, Caspen, continued on his way. Returning to Summerset, Shashka, Tru, Malik, Lilith and Amrahil headed for the library only to be interrupted by an indescribable sight as an unnatural purple brightness filled the entire sky. They had a hunch they may find more at Gilliams, and so they raced there. They rushed to the basement and found the rune circle glowing with energy once more, but in a different way. Tru unexpectedly turned and bolted back outside, returning moments later with Wynna who joined to study the circle. Fascinated, Wynna asked Tru to offer her a magical item; anything would do. Tru handed her a piece of alchemical material and she snatched it up, tossing it quickly into the rune circle. The circle illuminated and instantaneously masses of bone clusters burst from its perimeter in random directions, knocking most everyone back and impaling Wynna . . .

Session 10

Amrahil grabbed himself a new shield from the blacksmith before heading towards the Three Kings Monastery with Shashka and Malik. There they met priestess Layana, who introduced them to the neutral-aligned practices of Pharasma and invited them to partake in their daily worship. After the 30-minute service, Amrahil inquired about Bishop and asked to see any records on him. They discovered his real name was Gewis and he lived in the monastery. They stayed the night in the monastery. Meanwhile, Tru, still divided from the group, had been making friends at the Summerset Hunt and persuaded two hunters to accompany him to explore a shack. After a nights rest, Tru made for the apothecary to prepare, but unexpectedly ran into Amrahil, Shaska, and Malik who were heading to the library. Tru tried to duck away, but it was too late as they already locked eyes. After a heartwarming catch-up session, they reunited at long last and Tru prepared some potions at Minstrel's. Leading everyone to Summerset Hunt where Eromin and Michael-George were waiting to go, they grabbed some horses and made for the forest. Arriving once more at the goblin lair, they combed through looking for signs of something more, Tru seeing the place for the first time. Fine jewelry was found and they took as much as they could hold, all the while Eromin looked rather surprised the place was down there as he believed he knew every blade of grass in the forest. Their way was assuredly blocked, as expected, by the earlier ceiling collapse which was now a field of stone and rubble. However, Shashka's keen sense caught the sound of voices across the wreckage and down a hallway. They carefully decided to climb across and discovered two voices down an opposite hallway. With effort, they managed to clear a way down the hallway revealing three figures illuminated by a single torch in the distance. Of course, Malik had no issue seeing who they were through the dark. Standing there was the hobgoblin that escaped with Lee, Aldon the Vampire, and Bishop who was badly burned. Although Shashka could not see as well, she had no time for games; her arrow would find out who was there. After a dim battle, Malik had slain Bishop, though, Shashka would have liked him alive, and Aldon fled out a back door. Pursuit seemed possible, but Tru seemed more concerned with the lair. He sealed himself inside with Eromin but returned after several moments and sparked a heated debate with Malik . . .

Session 4

Split up, Malik and Amrahil pursued the town guard and eavesdropped to learn more about what was raising such alarm. They learned what they could and headed off toward the best lead they had as the rest of the team appeared in the square and quickly followed behind. Walking down the moonlit street, a mob of people rushed by as you noticed a suspicious figure. Tru paid no mind to this however, and made his leave. You followed a trail leading through a passage out of the city into the wild as Tru bartered transportation out of the city. He soon was ambushed and fell victim to the night. Meanwhile, you all split once more, each covering different objectives in the woodland. Shashka and Amrahil fell into trouble, but Malik made it back in time to be of aid. What the heck is going on? What is alchemy? When will things begin to fall into place? Find out next time on another enticing episode of Campaign Jake!

Chapter 1: Comatose 3
Session 3

The puzzling inscription continued to prove the most diabolical adversary you’d ever faced. You can only imagine what cruel sadist crafted such an unbreakable code. Not a book in the library even makes mention of such a thing. Luckily, a quick trip to Giliam’s solved everything and the mysterious marking on the basement floor grew with light and energy, renewing a recently forgotten force within you. Giliam revealed a few of his own secrets following this event. Returning to town, a crowd had gathered in the square around the center statue, but something else also drew their eyes. After regrouping, a second trip to Giliam’s was necessary and the remainder of the group performed the ritual, only, something was different this time. Giliam then gifted the contents of a hidden chest to whoever wanted it. What will you do next? Where will you go from here? Why am I asking you all these questions? Find out next week on another very good episode of Campaign Jake!

Chapter 1: Comatose 2
Session 2

The road bent and turned as you blindly backtracked through the vale. As jungle faded into woodland, you began to encounter others using the pathway, though the way was long by foot. Soon enough, city gates appeared as Summerset came into view. Warnings of strange happenings granted you entry, and odd postings seemed to be pinned up on every corner. The town bustled with life and energy; shops and lively markets all around, but still, a weary undertone filled the streets. A stop at the monastery provided a means of rest and information for some of you, while others chose a traditional inn. Information on your appointed contact was gathered quickly leading you into the slums to a boarded-up home. Knocking on the front door seemed ineffective, so the obvious alternative of violently breaking down the cellar door closely followed. A man then came, and led you to the basement to reveal a mysterious marking matching your artifact, but the purpose was unclear. You recalled a clue in the town square and followed the lead to unveil an ancient inscription. However, this inscription proved most difficult, spanning multiple days worth of study. At night, townsfolk gather in the center of town to rave about an evil within their walls. What does this inscription mean? Who are these radical townsfolk? Where has Malik gone? Tune in next time for another pretty good episode of Campaign Jake!
